I created the design for this as crochet bags are much in vogue at present. I used carpet wool yarn to give the bag structure and to make sure it was strong enough to carry what we people like to carry in our bags - purses, makeup, phones and so much more.
The bag is created with double threads of carpet wool yarn which is available at www.YarnOnCone.co.uk in the UK. The chunky rug shoulder bag is crocheted up with 8mm hook with a nice length strap to go cross body when needed. Carpet yarn is great for all types of homeware and accessories. The bag is finished with 2 stylish buttons for closure. The pattern is crocheted in UK terminology only.
Alternatively, you can use almost any strong yarn e.g. thick cotton, jute or hemp.
Skill level: if you can crochet chains, double crochet and slip stitch then you have the skills to complete the bag
