Our little toddler is wearing a top and hat made in 100% Bluefaced Leicester pure wool and is not scratchy like some harsh wools, it is so soft. Doesn't she look cute. The jumper has an owl motif pocket with safety eyes attached. The top pattern is in 4 sizes from 24" to 30" chest and the hat in 2 sizes. You can use any alternative soft aran weight yarn, it crochets up very quickly. Page 5 includes instructions on how to make a swatch if you use yarn of an alternative weight.
